Musings…

I might post about other things than acting or singing.  Ya see…sometimes the industry which supports actors and singers blows and isn’t worth my precious musings.  So I’ll just rap about motherhood or food or depression or loneliness or sex or selfishness or politics…I think you get the picture.  Whatever is on my mind.  And since no one will be reading it, I might be more honest than I am in my ‘real’ life.  HA!

Enjoy and if you’re a potential employer, just know that I’m a professional who works my ass off when given the opportunity.  I’m not going to be flashy and jump in front of you with my incredible personality to get the job, but I will blow your socks off with talent and potential.  I love being on stage or in front of the camera and I’m damn good at it…but I’m not going to degrade my ethics or dignity to get a job.  I’m a mom and what she thinks of me matters more than what you do.  #justsayin

Someone asked me once what would be my ‘dream’ role.  I don’t have one.  Here’s why.  I think if I read a billion scripts and scored them and dreamed of the day I’d play Blanche, then the collaboration between director and actor would be ruined.  My preconceived ideas of who the character is would invade what the director’s interpretation of the writer’s words.  My college acting teacher told me that the actor’s first priority is to the writer, then director, then audience and finally self.  We are all collaborative artists and it’s this collaboration that creates magic.
